About

The Oso woman leads in gentle power and presence.

The word Oso means bear, in Spanish. An animal rooted in wild strength and confidence. A mama bear, protective and powerful, she is our motivation, and our remembering of all the quiet power within us. She represents our potential, our calm and driven thirst for life. With every challenge we face as women, we find the answers from deep within. It is in soul searching hibernation that we transform, and yet it is among our tribe that we feel our strength roar.

At Oso we know that change and healing takes a village. Getting through this next chapter in life as women takes muscle, grit, community, commitment, and a den...this is Oso Studio.

Background

TAYLOR CHEN is a movement specialist and strength coach with decades of experience working at the intersection of strength training, manual therapy, and mindfulness. She has pursued advanced study with Bob Cooley, Liz Koch, and more recently Edythe Heus, and draws from a rich breadth of disciplines including yoga (with certifications in Alignment, Katonah Yoga, Kundalini and Vinyasa systems), Chinese medicine theory, Body-Mind Centering, Alexander Technique, martial arts, mobility, and functional, primal and developmental movement patterns.

Taylor's work is grounded in understanding the fascial matrix as the organizing framework of the body — the connective web through which pressure systems, fluid dynamics, biomechanics, hormones and lived experience all converge. Taylor helps clients understand that the shape they are in is not fixed: our experiences, habits and choices literally mold us, and conscious attention can literally reshape us.

Whether she's working with you in a group session or one-on-one, Taylor's goal is the same — to help you uncover your body's innate capacity for organization and integration, and to witness the moment you make that connection for yourself. Her teaching is approachable, inquisitive and deeply informed, always leaving you with a greater sense of what's possible.
